Simple pleasures (a cosy weekend in Italy)

Last weekend I was at my family-in-law in Milan and I had such a cosy weekend. But don’t worry, no need to go that far to have a nice weekend. Here is my recipe for a nice weekend.

Ingredients :
- a cosy atmosphere
- to be surrounded by people you love (family or friends or both)
- to stroll
- to sip a warm tea wrapped up in a wool blanket
- to have a pet you can make coccole to (hugs in Italian, my favorite word)
- a pinch of sun
- to eat good food (no need to cook sophisticated and complicated meals, for example in Italy I love when we put bread, cheese, salami, tomatoes, prosciutto on the table and everyone makes his own sandwich
- to dance without getting any worries (even on ridiculous musics)

A nice weekend can consist of a very few things. I didn’t do anything special this weekend (except the fact that I sold dates for 4 hours in Italian and it was so much fun) but I enjoyed it so much. Simple things can be precious moments. These days we want to do too much, and I’m like this, I usually always want to go out and do a thousand things during the weekend. However, doing nothing can be good too. To simply take the time, “far niente” like Italians say, this is an art that you have to learn. I’m sure I’m gonna start to enjoy it more and more now that winter is coming.blogDSCF3193

What about you ? What are your ingredients for a nice weekend and what are your life’s simple pleasures ?

By the way, I’m thinking about doing a city guide post about Milan where I would tell you what there is to see in Milan, where to eat… Would you be interested ?

Buona giornata ragazzi !
