Origami in the dreamlike world of the Hôtel Original

blogDSCF4351

I was invited last Wednesday to an origami workshop in a 4 stars hotel “Hôtel Original” decorated by the designer Stella Cadente, which is close to Place de la Bastille in Paris.  .

Organized by Tempting Place a company of boutique hotels, I’ve found myself in this very design hotel with my friend Amélia who won my contest on Facebook, and another 10 decoration bloggers. First we had a tour of the hotel which has a very extravagant decoration and dreamlike atmosphere.

Each room is decorated based on a specific theme.
We had the opportunity to see the room called “Aux Merveilles” in the spirit of Alice in Wonderland (quadruple room), Joker (double room), Forêt enchantée (triple) et Reine de Cristal (executive room). To know more about rooms & rates click here.

We were welcomed by a nice buffet and then we all took place around a table in the breakfast room to start the workshop. blogDSCF4322 blogDSCF4313 blogDSCF4316 blogDSCF4306

The workshop was facilitated by the blogger of Carnet d’une flâneuse (yes a stroller friend).

She is not only super nice but she is also very patient because like I’ve already told you, I’m not so good with crafts and unfortunately origami is no exception to the rule… I’m therefore still looking for my hidden talent (it seems that it is too well hidden). :)blogDSCF4304 blogDSCF4341 blogDSCF4347

Despite my difficulties in origami, I spent a lovely moment, all the girls were so nice and open, the atmosphere was relaxed and we laughed a lot.

What I like the most with being a blogger is precisely these kind of meetings where you can meet people and talk around an original activity like this one.

A big thank to Tempting Place for the invitation, you can renew it whenever you want ! :)

I didn’t want to end on a failure so I’ve decided to try origami again by doing the crane garland I bought at the Salon Création & Savoir-faire 2013 at the Adeline Klam stand. If you have the opportunity, go see her lovely shop (54 Boulevard Richard Lenoir 75011 Paris) !

After complaining and giving up several times, I finally made it ! This video helped me a lot !  ! I’m only missing a needle to finish the garland so you’ll see it finished on my Instagram.  :)blogDSCF4439

Anyway, all of this made me want to try crochet again ! To be continued…

P.S. If you like origami, go see the amazing work of the Swedish Up The Wooden Hills, she also makes adorable clothes  !
