Nostalgic weekend in London #2

blogDSCF8907

After Greenwich and Notting Hill, let’s go to the center of London and talk to you about the restaurants where we ate, the shops where we went shopping and the places we visited.

But first of all let’s begin by watching this video. :)

Things to visit :

In 48h, we obviously didn’t got enough time to do everything we wanted but we managed at least to finally go to the famous The Breakfast Club without even waiting outside (well it’s true that it’s because we arrived at the opening at 8 a.m. and when we left 1h after, the line was already pretty big). The pancakes are to die for, I can easily understand why this place is so popular! This is the perfect place for having breakfast.

I asked you for good places to eat on social medias and you often talked to me about Byron so we tried their burgers and we approved it!

For a snack we stopped at Ben’s Cookies in Covent Garden to enjoy their delicious cookies.

We finished with dinner at the restaurant St John Bread & Wine. The design is very sleek, there is not a lot of decoration but the food is really really good and that’s what matters the most. Unfortunately it was too dark for me too take nice pictures but you will see more on the video.

The next day we wanted to go have lunch in our favorite market Borough Market but we had totally forgotten that it was closed on Sundays so we went to Old Spitafields Market next to Brick Lane. For lunch the choices are almost endless because there are a lot of restaurants and food trucks and after you can go shopping to digest.

About the hotel, we stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel London West End, which is in the center of London and which has a super confortable bed. What else?

Strolls :

Of course what we did the most this weekend apart from eating was to stroll but I mean intensive strolls of 21km per day! When you only have 48h on site, it’s necessary if you want to enjoy the most of it. It reminds me that when our friends were visiting us in London 7 years ago, the Boyfriend and I had prepared several tours to see the mains monuments depending on how many days they stayed that we called “the tour de force” (it explains my hashtag on IG #oreillystourdeforceofparis). We had a 24h tour de force, a 48h tour de force…

In a way we can say that we had a “tour de force” this weekend but there are so many places we wanted to go to that it’s sure we will come back to London very soon. We strolled around the British Museum, in Soho, at Carnaby Street, in Burlington Arcade, at Brick Lane, at Covent Garden without forgetting Regent and Oxford Street, Trafalgar Square and Big Ben. Follow me!

In a few words, we had an amazing weekend eating, shopping and strolling thanks to OUIBUS. We can’t wait to leave for another adventure!
