Paris, the city of colors

blogDSCF2542

If I say “Paris”, what does it make you think of ?

Tour Eiffel, Ladurée macarons, baguette, the City of light, antique street lights,  the Louvre, Moulin Rouge, the city of love… Paris is the most visited city in the world, however I think it is actually not well known because clichés interfere with reality (I’v only mentioned positive clichés of course, we are not even talking about the negative ones, especially about Parisians). In any case, Paris is not only an historic city, chic and pretentious, but it is also pieces of countryside (like I’ve already shown you here), colorful streets, residential areas and not only in chic areas.

What I like the most about Paris is not the touristic city but the authentic, colorful and unusual one. Days are becoming darker and darker, to add some colors is always a good idea to lift your spirit and it’s even better when it’s in Paris !

Open your eyes and enjoy this 100% Parisian color palette, I’m pleased to open for you the doors of “my Paris”. :)

RUE DES THERMOPYLES :

Let’s start with my favorite street called “la rue des Thermopyles”. Why is it my favorite ? Because this paved road is full of small old houses with colorful doors. During summer it’s even more beautiful with the wisteria blooming in the whole street !

RUE CREMIEUX :

I cannot talk about colorful places of Paris without mentioning “rue Crémieux”, our French Notting Hill. It’s very close of Gare de Lyon if you have a lot of time to spare before taking your train ;)

What I like the most about this street, are all these pretty details.

QUARTIER DE LA BUTTE AUX CAILLES :

Before, it was a hill covered with windmills, today this place looks like a village with all these houses and fountains. I strongly recommend you to go to « La petite Alsace » (rue Daviel), a collection of half-timbered houses. So confusing to see that in Paris ! Love “passage Daviel” and “Passage Barrault” too. ! blogDSCF2487

LA CAMPAGNE A PARIS :

It’s a neighborhood in the 20th arrondissement filled with a hundred little houses. Absolutely charming !

RUE DE MOUZAÏA :

This street located near the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont leads off on both sides several alleys with houses and gardens.

CANAL ST MARTIN :

One of my favorite places to stroll during summer. I love having a picnic on the quays of the canal.

As you must have noticed, I’ve discovered a new passion for doors :)blogIMG_20130402_172323

Rue des artistes

Passage Boudin and Avenue Rapp

Last collection of colors : Parisians cars can be colorful too !

Voilà, I hope this rainbow of colors brighten your day and will have made you want to stroll happily while singing  « Always look on the bright side of life ! ». :)

P.S. I’d like to thank you for the warm welcome you gave to my last post
